Other answers:
  • child fell off of a bed onto the edge of a box on his belly 6 wks prior to dx.
  • I find it interesting that the dx was only a few months after nursing ended. I almost wonder if nursing helped hold off the disease a while. I do not believe that the end of nursing caused the diabetes though.
  • Croup, no other illness prior to dx
  • under weight
  • other than strep, he did have very active soccer season prior to dx and very busy school and other activities, possibly overstressed?
  • virus approx 6 months before diagnosis
  • environment, stress
  • high dioxin levels where we used to live
  • HPV vaccination
  • 2 viruses -broke out into red bumps a few years ago.
  • MMR vaccine specifically
  • I believe vaccines could play a role along with chemicals, etc in the environment. Then a trigger sets diabetes into action--for my child it was the croup virus.
28. Thank you!
